Bacina
Bacina lakes are located in Bacina. They consist of six joined separate lakes: Ocusa, Crnisevo, Podgora, Sladinac, Vrbnik, and Plitko Jezero. Their depth is from 3 to 45 meters. The water in them is sweet and has a source that is linked directly with the sea. From many sources it is important to note that in the area Klokun in the Plitko Jezero is a source that provides drinking water for the city of Ploce and the surrounding areas. From Vrgorac field there is a tunnel to Bacinska jezera 2 km long, used for drainage of excess water from Vrgorac and Stasevacka fields and flood prevention.They are named after the inland town of Bacina close to port of Ploce The lakes are part of a picturesque landscape and surrounded by mountains. They are situated between Makarska and Dubrovnik. It is a crypto-depression lake, with its bottom below the surface of the sea.
