Plat, located close to Dubrovnik, in the area called Zupa Dubrovacka, is 6 km from the picturesque town of Cavtat and near Mlini. Hidden between the resorts of Cavtat and Mlini, Plat is a tiny oasis of peace and tranquillity. Due to its beautiful landscapes and mild climate, this agricultural and fishing area covered in Mediterranean vegetation has become a tourist destination that offers a wide selection of private accommodation.
With the beautiful pine and cypress trees hugging the shoreline and providing a welcome relief from the hot summer rays and its many enchanting bays and lovely pebbly and sandy beaches, Plat is ideal for those who want to escape the rush of daily life and yet have the convenience of being just 12km from Dubrovnik. Beaches are pebbly and sandy, with a large rocks in between, gently shelving into the sea allowing weak or non-swimmers to enjoy the water. The beach faces southwest into Zupa bay and as such has very little shade for most of the day so a parasol could be considered essential. In the vicinity there is also a naturist section of the beach.
