Lumbarda
Lumbarda is a small and picturesque place of 1300 residents. There is a long tradition of agriculture, fishery (it is surrounded on three sides with the sea) and masonry in the near by quarries. However, tourism is dominant today. Life began here in ancient times and practically searched for its historic continuity in harmony with its natural surroundings. In the 3 rd century BC a Greek colony was formed and psefizam, one of the oldest written documents in Croatia was made. As a tourist destination, one of the biggest advantages of this area is the clean quality of the air as well as sea that surrounds it. Depth visibility of the sea is about 21m (68ft).The island is full of beautiful nature that is worth exploring and walking is the best way to experience it. Comfortable shoes, drinking water and camera are recommended. Different sorts of trees and plants are decorating the island and because of its density the Greeks called it Korkyra Melaina ( "black Korcula"). Walking trails are all over the island. Our favorite walks are through the vineyards, where there is less car traffic. The longest trail is the one from the center of Lumbarda towards the East, all the way to the sandy beach Przina, and the Raznjic point.
